Music Exchange: Ecole de Musique visit
Friday 27th April 2018
We are organising a planned visit to Newtown by Ecole de musique Les Herbiers in April from Friday 27th April 2018 until Tuesday 1st May 2018.
Please note that the party will be arriving in two coaches. The Musicians coach will be arriving at 5.00pm on Friday 27th April and will be departing at 9.00am on Monday 30th April. This coach contains all the musicians and staff from the Ecole de musique Ville des Herbiers. The party comprises 5 Tutors; 30 adult musicians 22 Young musicians and the Les Herbiers Twinning Committee past President and his wife, 57 in total.
The Twinning Committee coach will also arrive on Friday 27thApril and will depart early morning on Tuesday 1st May. This coach contains all the Les Herbiers Twinning Committee members and accompanying adults from our twin town Les Herbiers, 50 in total.
Newtown Twinning Committee has been working with Montgomeryshire Youth Music, Michelle Martin and Sue Phillips along with Sarah Koffer of North Powys Youth Band, Greg Jenkins of Newtown High School and Ecole de musique Les Herbiers to organise this joint weekend of music. Many other local musical organisations have been lending their support and will also be contributing to the performances.
We are delighted to announce that we are now able to host all the visiting YOUNG MUSICIANS and the LES HERBIERS TWINNING PARTY. However we are still asking for help from local musicians to host ADULT MUSICIANS between the ages of 29 to 75. If you are keen to get involved in the project please contact NTA: email@example.com

Newtown Twinning Association will have a stall on the Carnival Field on the 10th of June. Come and see us for information regarding up and coming events and the latest news. We are always looking for new members and corporate members, and if you would like to find out more about how we are helping local business and promoting cultural and sporting organisations within the town we would love to see you.
Our annual summer event, will be held in Dolerw Park on the 22nd July 2018.

The Comite de jumelage du Pays des Herbiers are already planning a return to our September 2018 Food Festival with a greater variety and quantity of produce, along with many other new ideas to enrich our festival.

Newtown Twinning Association is very pleased to announce that we will be organising a coach to visit the Chrono this year. We have been invited by the Chrono committee to be the Guest of Honour at the Chrono Fair event.
This is a great opportunity for Newtown and Twinning, as it involves the offer of a free trade stand to be used by Newtown Twinning Association for the period of the Fair so as to sell and promote Newtown and Welsh produce, a mention of local Welsh Beer was made!
The Chrono committee are also very keen for HCC and members to return to take part in the 37th Chrono des Nations on the Sunday 14th October and the 20th Randonnee du Chrono La Walter Beneteau held on the Saturday 13th Oct 2018.
The Comité de Jumelage du pays des Herbiers have also confirmed that they would be very willing to arrange hosting for the duration of the event for HCC members, Newtown Twinning members, Newtown Town Mayor and Councillors and other visitors from Newtown.
The Chrono committee have also asked us if we can arrange for some Welsh musicians to visit for the event possibly Ffonic, or a local Choir, to add to the Welsh presence as Guest of Honour.
The outline itinerary for the Chrono 2018 is:
• Travelling down either Wednesday 10th Oct or Thursday 11 Oct.
• 12th Oct: Chrono Fair starts. Evening meal: Celtique theme Soiree 20.00h!
• 13th Oct: Chrono Fair including the Randonnee du Chrono La Walter Beneteau. Evening meal: Dinner Spectacle Espace Herbauge 20.00h
• 14th Oct: Chrono Fair including the 37th Chrono des Nations. Evening Soiree des Benevoles 19.00h
• 15th Oct: Chrono Fair last day.
• 16th Oct: travel home
Please note that these travel times and days have not yet been agreed.

November 29th to December 4th 2018
Newtown Twinning Association will be organising a return to the Jum Regal International Food Festival which is held in our Twin Town. At the last Jum Regal Newtown Twinning Association sold £4000.00 of Montgomeryshire food and drink products working with Cultivate.
In 2018 we are hoping to persuade local producers to accompany us and with the support of The High Street Deli and Cultivate along with Newtopia and No1. High Street, we are planning a large Welsh Christmas Fair at the Jum Regal. This is a great opportunity to promote and sell Welsh / Montgomeryshire Food, drink and craft products on an international stage.
There will be opportunities for Newtown people to join us on this visit and enjoy the international Food fair in our Twin town. Not only a Welsh winter fair but also products from Southern Spain, Germany and France lots to enjoy and stock up for the Christmas period.
