Our events for 2024-2025: In outline
- Due to the success and popularity of last year, we are once again arranging our Annual Dinner at Themes College restaurant. The date to note in your diary is Tuesday 11th June 2024. The menu will have a French theme as previously. Details of the Menu, price and booking method will soon appear on our website homepage.
- We are also planning our Annual Social Picnic in the park for 2024, hopefully to be held during July or August 2024. Details will be made available later in the year.
- Unfortunately as a result of the work load of the Comite de Jumelage du Pay des Herbiers (Please note that they are also twinned with Coria in central Spain and Liebertwolkwitz in Eastern Germany) our French friends are unable to join us for the 2024 Newtown Food Festival this year. They have visited Newtown annually for our Food Festival since 2016 with the exception of the Covid years and we hope they can return with their products for the 2025 Food Festival.
- Film evenings 2024-25 season: (October / November 2024 and January / February 25) please see below in our homepage for more details as they are posted. We are also planning a social evening with food and wine along with short films and photos of our recent visit to Les Herbiers for the Music exchange.
- We are currently looking at the possibility of a concert to be held in Newtown to repeat the experiences we enjoyed in Les Herbiers for the benefit of those who were unable to join us in April this year! More to follow.
- We are currently in the process of planning for an International Beer Festival to be held in Les Herbiers in the spring of 2025 which will involve French, German and Spanish beers along with our local Welsh beers which we are hoping to take to promote and sell. More information to follow soon. There will also be an opportunity for Newtown people to join us on this visit with a far less arduous journey and an overnight crossing to Normandy or Brittany with sightseeing stops en route.
- We have also just received notification of a possible Music Festival in Les Herbiers involving all 4 twin towns, Les Herbiers, Coria in Spain, Liebertwolkwitz in Germany and Newtown! It could be a little while hence but . . . . watch this space!
